Benwald has moved into the Advanced divisions, and Last Monarch's Preliminary shows have gone great. Ashley and Erin's horses are in good form, and the farm has been quite busy with lessons. We are all getting geared up for the fall CCIs! Spring 2007 We have had a very busy and exciting spring! All horses seem to be doing well, and we are all looking forward to the upcoming show season. Benwald is getting ready to do his first advanced at Fair Hill, Last Monarch is moving up to preliminary, and Eastbound is learning to canter in the ring. Student Ashley Adams has qualified for the CCI*** at Jersey Fresh, and Madigan Murphy and Kate Fitzgerald have moved up to preliminary. Erin Freedman has also joined the team, and we are excited to have her on board. Erin has competed through the two star level and currently competes at the Prix St. Georges level in dressage. Paradise Farm Now that Radnor is over there is more time to develop other horses! Ladyslipper, Last Monarch, and Icewine (Bobby Stevenson's horse) traveled to Aiken to run in the training division. All there were great and they all picked up ribbons. Icewine was 2nd, Ladyslipper 3rd, and Last Monarch 5th. This was my first training with both Icewine and Last Monarch, and next week we head to VA Horse Trials. Radnor CCI** Well after busy summer and fall preparing for Radnor, I am happy to say Benwald stepped up to the plate! Radnor as usual was a true championship course, and anyone who came thinking otherwise was sorely mistaken. The course this year was 9:33 minutes long, with many big efforts late in the course. And while we had to ride very brave and accurate, it was nicely built and asked a wide variety of solid questions. Ben and I finished 15th overall, and his owner Anne Hennessy and I are very excited how hard he tried! Right now Ben is on vacation for 4 weeks, and will get back into the action soon.
